FEHRL Secretary General Thierry Goger stressed to European Commissioner for Transport, Violeta Bulc at the Connecting Europe conference being held in Tallinn, Estonia, from 21st-22nd September 2017 the necessity to embed innovation in CEF and other mechanisms to support the maintenance and the construction of road and transport infrastructures. Commissioner Bulc invited FEHRL to suggest her a scheme to enable a better interaction between the R&D world and the operational world.

He also presented the benefit of innovative solutions currently under development with the support of Horizon 2020 projects. In addition, he promoted the TRA2018 conference as a reference event for the sector.
