IFSTTAR
IFSTTAR.pngIFSTTAR was created on 1st January 2011, following a merger of the INRETS and the LCPC institutes under the status of a public scientific and technological institution. It falls under the authority of the Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Energy on one hand and the Ministry of Higher education and Research on the other.
Recognised as a reference organisation in the international arena, Ifsttar conducts applied research and expert appraisals in the fields of civil engineering and building materials, urban engineering, natural hazards, mobility of people and goods, components & systems and transport safety. The use and impact of infrastructures are considered from various angles: technology, economy, society, health, energy and human. The work applies to all four transport modes: Road, Rail, Runways and Rivers.
