 Netivei Israel - National Transport Infrastructure Company Ltd. (NTIC) is a government-owned company responsible for the planning, development, maintenance and operation of Israel’s interurban road network and for railway development. Netivei Israel has established and maintains a transportation infrastructure worth about 100 billion NIS.Netivei Israel is currently carrying out substantial parts of the Multi-Year National Transportation Infrastructure Development plan which spans from 2011 to 2016. This development plan encompasses the NETIVEI ISRAEL (English translation: Israel Routes) plan. As part of the NETIVEI ISRAEL plan, the company is also responsible for the construction of several strategic railway lines. The budget for 2011-2016 totals about 10 billion Euro. The R&D and Standardization Department of Netivei Israel is the modern successor to the Materials and Research Department that was established by the former PWD in the mid-1960s. Today, the Department is recognized as the leading center of R&D activity in the field of road infrastructure in Israel. The R&D and Standardization Department's activities include research and development, standardization and new product evaluation, and knowledge exchange.
